One of the most visible activities of Cub Scouts is the Trail’s End Gourmet Popcorn fundraising event each fall. This is our Pack’s Major Fund Raiser and source of INCOME for the year and is coordinated by our Pack’s “Popcorn Kernel”. While our dues structure does help our Pack budget, expenses seem to increase every year just to fund the program. In light of the fact that Pack 24 will receive approximately 35% of the proceeds of the popcorn sale, with a large percentage of the remainder going to the Saratoga District and the Twin Rivers Council, we will participate in the annual Popcorn Sale. We are confident that in addition to raising funds for our Pack, the program also teaches the Scout the concepts of thriftiness and salesmanship, as well as improving self-confidence by working toward and accomplishing a significant goal.
